Origin contemporary craft fair will take place at Old Spitalfields Market from 22 -28 September 2011. Works are 'Made not Manufactured.'

Origin offers a rare opportunity to see and buy a diverse range of high quality, original craft from over 200 makers in one convenient location. Disciplines range from ceramics, furniture, metalwork and glass, to fashion accessories, jewellery and knitwear.

I receive the Origin newsletter and their recent letter talks about 'Characterful Craft' which, as a character designer, is right up my street! There is loads of beautiful, eye catching work - especially Bristol based ceramicist SOPHIE WOODROW. Her delicate porcelain hybrid animals are not to be missed.

You can see more work at http://www.sophiewoodrow.co.uk/

or visit the Origin site

Also check out NINA FÜHRER's scarves. They are the ultimate in creature comfort! Hand knitted in merino wool and mohair, they are as sumptuous as a fox stole and much more humane.
